This session focuses on the importance of Oral Health, after a year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr Adolfo Contreras, professor of periodontology at the Universidad del Valle (Colombia), microbiologist and doctor in craniofacial biology, together with Dr Vanessa Blanc, Head of Microbiology of the DENTAID Research Center, will address the following points during the meeting:
1. SARS-Cov-2 virus biology / Relationship with other viruses, SARS, MERS and other viruses found in bats of the genus Rhinolophus.
2. Routes of transmission and entry of the virus into the body.
3. Presence of the virus in the mouth.
4. Strategies to lower the viral load in saliva.
5. Vaccines and variants.
